PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately calculate an SOx concentration in an exhaust gas, that is, a concentration of sulfur oxides, more widely, an SOx-related parameter in the exhaust gas, in a field of an internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: A control device of the invention of an internal combustion engine having a limit current type sensor, calculates an SOx-related parameter in an exhaust gas by using an output current of the sensor when performing step-down control for lowering a voltage applied to the sensor from a parameter calculation voltage under a low-oxygen concentration condition such as an operation of an internal combustion engine in which, for example, an EGR rate reaches a prescribed EGR rate or higher. |
