PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an optical transmitter capable of executing optical alignment pertaining to two directions perpendicular to the optical axis direction with high accuracy and rapidity, thereby capable of realizing more stable optical coupling efficiency.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for manufacturing an optical transmitter comprising a plurality of laser light sources 1, a plurality of lenses, an optical multiplexer 20, a plurality of lens holders provided with a flat surface parallel to the optical axis, a plurality of holder bases, and a carrier board 6 for supporting these, the method including the steps of: fixing the lens holders to the holder bases; fixing the holder bases to the carrier board 6; irradiating a first irradiation position on the flat surface with laser light to cause plastic deformation due to thermal strain to occur and correcting a lens-fixing position to a first direction perpendicular to the lens optical axis; and irradiating a second irradiation position different from the first irradiation position on the flat surface with laser light to cause plastic deformation due to thermal strain to occur and correcting the lens-fixing position to a second direction perpendicular to both the lens optical axis and the first direction. |
