PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sales forecast system capable of precisely forecasting sales of various commodities while considering influences among competitive plural commodities.SOLUTION: The sales forecast system determines a preference tree which is a determination tree for determining a commodities evaluation function using a characteristic data and a sales result data of a group of related commodities. The sales forecast system determines the commodities evaluation function for each of plural candidate commodities corresponding to the preference tree by using the preference tree and commodities characteristic vectors of plural candidate commodities. The sales forecast system determines a preference evaluation point of each of the plural candidate commodities by using the commodities characteristic vector and the commodities evaluation function of the plural candidate commodities. The sales forecast system forecasts sales of the plural candidate commodities by using the preference evaluation point.
