PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a twin screw extruder where a uniformly kneaded fiber-reinforced resin composition can be produced by preventing the thread breakage of the roving of a charged reinforced fiber and controlling the fiber length of the reinforced fiber to be a desired length and to provide a production method of the fiber-reinforced resin composition where such a fiber-reinforced resin composition can be produced.SOLUTION: In a twin screw extruder 10 where a reinforced fiber is charged into a molten thermoplastic resin generated in a resin feed section 13 from a charge port 18 and a fiber-reinforced resin composition is produced via a kneading section 15,: the kneading section 15 is disposed at the discharge side end of the twin screw extruder 10; a transport section 14 is disposed between the charge port 18 and the kneading section 15; and the tip clearance Sc of a screw element 12b forming the transport section 14 is larger than a screw clearance Ss.
