<p>The present invention relates to an apparatus for recognizing the position and posture of a mobile robot and a method thereof. The apparatus for recognizing the position and posture of the mobile robot according to the present invention includes: a reference fixing stand which becomes the reference of an absolute coordinate required for recognizing the position, a first encoder unit which is fixed to the reference fixing stand and calculates the rotational angle of a mobile object, the mobile robot which freely moves in a working field, a second encoder unit which is fixed to the mobile robot, and a wire which connects the first encoder unit to the second encoder unit. Thereby, the position and posture of the mobile robot are easily grasped without expensive sensing and communications equipment.</p> |
