<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device and image pickup method capable of picking up an image of a workpiece moving within a movable range at high resolution, automatically detecting a workpiece at an arbitrary position within the movable range, and suppressing an increase in the amount of data.SOLUTION: An image pickup device includes: a plurality of cameras capable of picking up images of a movable range within which a workpiece can move; and a calculation unit that creates a rough image 91 at low resolution on the movable range on the basis of images 90 picked up by the plurality of cameras, calculates barycentric coordinates 84 of the workpiece on the basis of the rough image 91, and creates a high-definition image 92 at high resolution on a part of the movable range including the barycentric coordinates 84.</p> |
