<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of predicting a temperature of a steel material which can predict a temperature of a steel material with high accuracy while suppressing increase of the calculation load, a method of controlling the temperature of a furnace, a temperature prediction device for steel materials, and a furnace temperature controller.SOLUTION: A method of predicting a temperature of a slab 1 to be charged into a continuous heating furnace comprises calculating a heat transfer amount (Q') in the longitudinal direction by using a two-dimensional calculation model taking heat transfer in the thickness and longitudinal directions of the slab 1 into consideration, calculating an overall heat absorptivityφ'cgs by applying the heat transfer amount Q' to the Stefan-Boltzmann's low and calculating a temperature of the end part 2 of the slab by using a pseudo two-dimensional calculation model formed by adding a correction term based on the overall heat absorptivityφ'cgs to a one-dimensional calculation model taking only heat transfer in the thickness direction of the slab 1 into consideration.</p> |
