<p>An anal plug to prevent faecal contamination during butchering of an animal is disclosed. The plug as an elongate body shaped for ease of initial insertion. Two flanges (7, 10) are formed one after another on the body to conform to the anal channel when inserted, the fore most (7) generally smaller in diameter and more flexible than the latter (10). The fore most flange may have zones (12) and ribs (13) that facilitates controlled flexing of the flange to assist insertion and conformation to the anal channel. The body has a hollow form, the interior of which is accessible from its rear so that one end of an insertion apparatus can be placed inside and used to insert the plug into the animal.</p> |
