Disclosed is a coating on a solid oral formulation comprising shellac and/or a salt thereof and sodium starch glycolate and at least one physiologically acceptable excipient. Also disclosed are processes for preparing the coatings and methods for preparing solid oral formulations which comprise the coatings.
