The invention relates to foundry engineering, in particular, to producing foundry goods with modified surface layer. A nanostructured coating composition comprises filler including quartz dust or fused corundum or graphite, binder and water, filler features having the following breakup, in wt %: 1-100 nm - not less than 10; 101 nm - 1 mcm - 20-50; 1.5-10 mcm - 20-60; 11-20 mcm - 5-15; over 20 mcm - making the rest. Coating binder includes clear starch or commercial lignosulphonate. Additionally, coating comprises bentonite. According to the second version, a nanostructured coating composition comprises liquid glass and, additionally, ferrochromium slag, as coating binder. The inventive result provides enhancement microstructure of surface layer of gray cast iron. |
