The present invention discloses an immunogenic composition for the treatment or prevention of a disease caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae infection, comprising at least 11 S. pneumoniae capsular saccharide conjugates representing the capsular saccharide covalently bound with the carrier protein, comprising the capsular saccharide conjugates derived from serotypes 1, 4, 5, 6B, 7F, 9V, 14, 18C, 23F, 19A and 19F, wherein 19A is conjugated to a first bacterial toxoid, 19F is conjugated to a second bacterial toxoid, 7 or 8 S. pneumoniae capsular saccharides are conjugated to protein D, and wherein the immunogenic composition comprises 3, 4, 5 or 6 carrier proteins selected from the group consisting of tetanus toxoid, diphtheria toxoid, CRM197, pneumolysin and PhtD or fused proteins thereof. Vaccines, comprising the immunogenic composition and a method of making thereof are also described. |
