<p>A relay using differential coding and Huffman coding, and a relay method thereof are disclosed. The relay includes: a Huffman coding table DB storing a plurality of Huffman coding tables configured to maximize compressibility in response to a plurality of signal distributions; an RF receiver receiving and demodulating an RF mobile communication signal; an analog to digital converter (ADC) converting the demodulated RF mobile communication signal into a digital signal; a differential encoder performing differential encoding on the digital signal obtained through the conversion; a compressor analyzing the signal distribution of the differential encoded digital signal, searching for, from the Huffman coding table DB, a Huffman coding table configured to maximize compressibility in response to the signal distribution of the analyzed signal, and applying the found Huffman coding table to the digital signal to perform compression; and a digital transceiver generating a frame for the compressed digital signal, inserting the ID of the applied Huffman coding table into the header of the generated frame, and transmitting the generated frame.</p> |
