A laser component assembly comprises a substrate 100 having a first component portion 120 and a second component portion 121. Each component portion has a chip mounting surface 160, a lens mounting surface 170 and a stop surface 155. Each stop surface is perpendicular to the respective chip mounting surface. A laser chip 200 is mounted on each chip mounting surface. The laser component assembly also has a lens bar 300 which comprises one optical lens 310 for each component portion. The lens bar is arranged on the lens mounting surfaces of the component portions and is seated against the stop surfaces of the component portions.
