A motor drive system comprises a motor, a motor control device, and a sensor for detecting the torque or acceleration of the motor. The motor control device includes: an estimation unit for estimating at least one of the speed and position of the motor; and a current control unit for, based on the estimation result of the estimation unit, controlling the current supplied to the motor. The estimation unit has a first estimation unit and a second estimation unit and derives an estimated value on the basis of the estimation results of the first and second estimation units. The first estimation unit performs estimation on the basis of a detection signal detected by the sensor and a high-frequency current component superimposed on the current output to the motor. The second estimation unit performs estimation from the result of estimation of the voltage induced by the motor. |
