A dry rectifier comprises a plurality of rectifier discs 3 assembled in a bore 2 through an insulating housing 1 under the pressure of spring 4, and two contact members 5, 6, extending normal to the base in guides 9, 10; in the housing, each member being retained in position by a resilient tongue 7 engaging the wall of the bore and a stop 11 engaging the outer wall of the housing, and the two contact members being arranged to retain the rectifier discs and spring between them in the bore. Those portions of the contact members outside the housing have a smaller width than those portions inside the housing, and the members may have a crank 13 or may be straight, and may project from the same or opposite sides of the housing which is of a plastics material. |
