WING-LIKE MUFFLER SUBSTITUTED FOR OXIDATION CATALYST

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a muffler that can reduce COemission without use of an oxidation catalyst and that concurrently increases fuel economy.SOLUTION: A wing-like muffler substituted for oxidation catalyst is inserted into a muffler of an internal combustion engine. The wing-like muffler has an external cylinder that has an inlet hole formed on an upstream side and that has an outlet hole formed on a downstream side. A front part of the external cylinder is provided with a twisted inductor in which a cone having a diameter enlarged on a downstream side is fixed with a predetermined clearance to the external cylinder by a plurality of radial ribs and in which the rib is twisted until it overlaps the adjacent rib in a front view.
