1. A fluid flow control and debris intercepting apparatus for controlling flow through a structure having an opening defining a fluid flow channel comprising:
(a) first and second side panels connected to the structure; (b) a support member connected to said first and second side panels and spanning the opening defining the fluid flow channel; (c) a plurality of transversely spaced apart flow control vanes carried by said support member for controlling fluid flow through the fluid flow channel, each of said flow control vanes having an upper portion, a lower portion and an intermediate portion and being movable between a first position and a second position permitting an increase in the volume of fluid flow through the fluid flow channel; and (d) a yieldably deformable biasing member connected to each of said flow control vanes proximate the intermediate portions thereof for resisting movement of each of said flow control vanes toward said second position.
