Provided is a construction machine capable of obtaining a large fuel reduction effect by ensuring good operability and efficiently using recovered energy. A construction machine provided with a variable displacement hydraulic pump which is driven by an engine, a turning hydraulic motor, a turning electric motor, a discharge capacity adjustment device which adjusts the discharge capacity of the hydraulic pump, and a control device which, when an operating lever for turning is operated, controls braking/driving of a turning body by the sum of the torques of the turning hydraulic motor and the turning electric motor is provided with an operation amount detection device which detects the operation amount of the operating lever for turning, and a speed detection device which detects the speed of the turning electric motor. The control device is provided with a hydraulic pump output reduction control unit which takes in an operation amount signal of the operating lever for turning detected by the operation amount detection device and a speed signal of the turning electric motor detected by the speed detection device, calculates the reduction rate of the output of the hydraulic pump on the basis of the detected signals, and controls the discharge capacity adjustment device. |
