<p> The purpose is to provide a high-strength porous ceramic that permits complex shapes and precision processing and makes it possible to control pore diameter and porosity simultaneously, and a method for producing the same. A porous ceramic provided with ceramic particles containing at least one selected from the group consisting of aluminum nitride, silicon carbide, and silicon nitride, the porous ceramic characterized by having ceramic walls (2) created by bonding of some of the ceramic particles and a plurality of independent pores (1) formed by being surrounded by these ceramic walls, the plurality of independent pores (1) being connected by gaps (3) having a smaller pore size than the pore size of the independent pores (1), and the pore size of the gaps (3) being from 10 nm to 5μm.</p> |
