<p>ABSTRACT A portable conveyor belt lifter including first (A) and second (B) uprights at opposed lateral sides of a longitudinally extending conveyor belt (17). A cross brace (11) extends over the conveyor belt and braces together the first and second uprights A,B. The cross brace can be adjusted to suit the width of the conveyor system. An elongate lifting member (20) attached to respective lifting members (6a,6b) extends upward, powered by an external power source, to effect upward movement of the elongate lifting member and thus the conveyor belt. The lifter can be powered by hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical supply or manual jack actuation. The lifter can be provided as a kit of parts. The elongate lifting member (20) can include chain, rope, a rigid or semi-rigid member, or combinations of two or more thereof. Components of the portable conveyor belt lifter may be formed or fabricated from carbon composite, carbon fibre, aluminium or chrome molybdenum steel (chrome moly) for strength and relative lightness.</p> |
