PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus configured to develop a halftone part of an electrostatic latent image near a boundary with a solid part at an appropriate image density, regardless of the amount of electrostatic charge of toner in developer.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes a toner charging amount measurement apparatus for detecting the amount of electrostatic charge per unit volume of toner, or alternative property detecting means for detecting alternative property of the amount of electrostatic charge. A write control unit is provided which executes processing for increasing optical writing intensity in a halftone part of an electrostatic latent image, near a boundary with a solid part, as a detected amount of electrostatic charge becomes larger. |
