The indexing mechanism merging method comprises: when Li reaches the maximum capacity, detecting whether or not Li+1 is being merged; if the detection result indicates that Li+1 is being merged, detecting whether or not Li+1' already reaches the maximum capacity; and if the detection result indicates that Li+1' does not reach the maximum capacity, and merging the Li with Li+1'. After Li reaches the maximum capacity, Li is merged with Li+1' if Li+1 is being merged, thus the problem in the prior art is solved that the indexing mechanism FD tree functions for a quite long time in the merging process; and the process of merging Li with Li+1' can be performed at the same time when Li+1 is being merged, so a multithread merging is realized and the effect of improving merging rate is achieved.
