1316876 Serological test device LICENCIA TALALMANYOKAT ERTEKESITO VALLALAT 19 May 1970 [24 May 1969] 24098/70 Heading B1X A serological diagnostic test device comprises a test slide which may be of metal, glass, silvered glass or plastics bearing on at least part of one side of a dried coating of a mixture of antigen or antibody linked to a particulate carrier, with an aqueous solution of a natural, semi-synthetic or synthetic film forming watersoluble polymer. The polymer may be polyvinyl alcohol, polyvinyl pyrrolidone, polyvinyl methyl ether, carboxy methyl cellulose, methyl cellulose, gelatin or glue. The aqueous polymer solution may contain merthiolate or sodium thiazide. The slide may be coated with varnish and allowed to dry before application of the diagnostic preparation. Examples relate to slides carrying (1) thyroid antigen bound to polystyrene latex and mixed with polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) or methyl cellulose solution, used for determination of thyroid antibodies; (2) human gamma globulin bound to polystyrene particles mixed with methyl cellulose solution, and used for determining rhematoid factor; (3) human gamma globulin bound to sheep cells and mixed with PVA solution; (4) on one area of the slide, HCG bound to polystyrene particles mixed with PVA solution, on another area anti-HCG serum diluted with PVA solution, for use in pregnancy testing; (5) on one area of the slide HCG bound to sheep cells and mixed with PVA solution, in another area anti-HCG antiserum diluted with PVA solution, also for use in pregnancy testing. |
