摘要 Provided is a position sensor capable of maintaining accurate detection of pressing positions of, e.g., a pen tip or a fingertip, etc., even if the intensity of light received by a light-reception element is disrupted. This position sensor comprises: a sheet-shaped optical waveguide having a plurality of linear cores arranged in a lattice shape and formed on the surface of a sheet-shaped underclad layer, and having an overclad layer formed in a sheet shape in a state in which same covers these cores; a light-emitting element connected to one end surface of the cores in this optical waveguide; and a light-reception element connected to the other end surface of the cores. The position sensor is configured so as to intermittently perform normalization (reference acquisition) whereby a set reference value is set to the light reception intensity from each core in the light-reception element, not only at the start of use but at prescribed time intervals from the start of use. The position sensor is also configured so as to perform normalization suspension whereby the normalization is stopped, in the event that the light-reception element detects a change in the light propagation amount of the cores, as a result of pressure by a pen tip, etc., during input by a pen, etc.
