PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine, when there are multiple viewers, a preferential viewer by using attribute information of the viewers and a predetermined rule and provides a view service appropriate to the situation of the scene.SOLUTION: A content providing apparatus comprising: a camera unit that picks up an image of a viewer; a recognition information acquisition unit that acquires recognition information which is information for recognizing the viewer from the image pickup information acquired by the camera unit; a viewer attribute acquisition unit that acquires attribute information of the viewer, by using the acquired recognition information; and a preferential viewer determining unit that determines a preferential viewer when there are multiple recognized viewers, by using the attribute information of the viewers acquired by the viewer attribute acquisition unit and a predetermined rule.
