PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell separator which is excellent in strength and homogeneity, and hard to cause clogging of a flow path by water produced at generating electric power over a long period of time, and which enables suppression of increase in contact resistance and decrease in power generation efficiency.SOLUTION: A fuel cell separator comprises: a base; and a thermally-cured hydrophilic resin coating film provided on a main surface of the base composed of a graphite-resin composite compact with rib and groove portions provided on its surface. The graphite-resin composite compact includes graphite powder and resin components so that the mass ratio of the mass of the graphite powder/the mass of the resin components falls in a range of 90/10 to 70/30. The rib and groove portions formed on the surface of the base composed of the graphite-resin composite compact are at least partially subjected to a surface roughening process so that the surface roughness becomes 0.15-1.5 μm. The thermally-cured hydrophilic resin coating film is formed only in the groove portions on the surface of the graphite-resin composite compact. |
