<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent troubles such as the solidification of diaryl carbonate and the generation of poor heat transfer caused by thickening diaryl carbonate into a high concentration at the time of shutdown in a method for producing diaryl carbonate by reaction distillation.SOLUTION: A method for producing diaryl carbonate comprising feeding alkyl aryl carbonate in a continuous multistage reaction distilling tower to generate diaryl carbonate and dialkyl carbonate includes returning a low boiling point constituent containing dialkyl carbonate extracted from a tower top part or the vicinity thereof to a tower bottom part or the vicinity thereof.</p> |
