The present invention pertains to a cooler. A cold insulating container (10) comprises a container body (16) that is an insulated box for which a front face opening (16a) can be opened by way of an opening and closing door (18), cold storing material (12) that cools a cold insulating chamber (16b) that is defined inside the container body (16), cooling equipment (28) that cools the cold storing material (12), and a metal plate (30) that is disposed between the cold storing material (12) and the cooling equipment (28) and that brings the cold storing material (12) and the cooling equipment (28) into thermal contact. The cold storing material (12) can be cooled by connecting an external refrigerating unit (14) and circulating a cooling medium that has been cooled by way of a refrigerating circuit (38) from a cooling medium flow path (40) to the cooling equipment (28).
