DETERMINING A VOLUME OF MEDICAL FLUID PUMPED INTO OR OUT OF A MEDICAL FLUID CASSETTE

A method for determining the volume of fluid pumped out of or drawn into the pumping chamber of a peritoneal dialysis machine. The theoretical pumped volume is adjusted using a calculated correction factor that takes into account the pressure of fluid in the pump chamber. The pressure may change e.g. as a result of the machine being positioned above or below the patient and affects the volume of the pump chamber, a wall of which is at least partially formed by a flexible diaphragm.
