The present invention relates to a device and a method for driving a vehicle which enable the continuous driving of a vehicle by limiting the increase in the driving speed of the vehicle when a power abnormal situation occurs during the driving of the vehicle. The method for driving a vehicle comprises the steps of: monitoring the power state of a vehicle; receiving a first acceleration command inputted at the detection of power abnormality and a first speed according to the first acceleration command when the power abnormal situation is detected during the monitoring; and driving the vehicle at the first speed. The device and the method of the present invention can improve reliability by limiting the increase in the driving speed of the vehicle to enable the continuous driving of the vehicle when the power abnormal situation occurs during the driving of the vehicle. Also, a driver, who cannot see a display unit to display the occurrence of the power abnormal situation, can feel the abnormality of the vehicle since the speed is limited in the power abnormal situation. Furthermore, the driver is authorized to determine continuous driving or speed reduction in the power abnormal situation of the vehicle, thereby removing the driver′s anxiety about the impossibility of controlling the abnormal situation of the vehicle. |
