PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyamide with the content of ionic impurities reduced and being useful for electrical and electronic components.SOLUTION: A method of producing a polyamide includes the step to cause dicarboxylic acid triazine active ester obtained by purification and represented by formula (A) to react with a diamine compound, where Ris a divalent aromatic residue comprising one or more element selected from O, N, S, F and Si, or a C1-12 divalent organic group; and Ris a C1-4 alkyl group or a C6-8 aromatic residue.
