The present invention relates to a portable ultrasonic diagnosing device having a low power mode and a method for performing the same. The portable ultrasonic diagnosing device comprises: an ultrasonic probe to transmit an ultrasonic signal to an examinee and then to receive an echo signal which is reflected from the examinee; a beam former to collect the echo signal reflected from the ultrasonic probe to generate frame data; a scan converting unit to scan-convert the frame data generated by the beam former to form ultrasonic images; a display unit having a display screen to display the scan-converted ultrasonic images; a memory to store image data on an image of a case that ultrasonic diagnosis is not performed among the ultrasonic images of the display unit; an ultrasonic image comparing and analyzing unit to compare and analyze the ultrasonic images of the display unit and the image data stored in the memory; and a low power mode control unit to allow an entire circuit to enter a low power mode if the ultrasonic image comparing and analyzing unit determines that the ultrasonic image displayed in the display unit is the ultrasonic image of the case that ultrasonic diagnosis is not performed, thereby reducing entire power consumption by regularly analyzing brightness of a certain area of the display unit to display the ultrasonic images to convert to the low power mode in a case that the ultrasonic diagnosis is not performed. |
