<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat insulation material that has low heat conductivity and excellent heat insulation performance, is high in strength, is excellent in processability and workability, is low in heating linear shrinkage, and has low dust emission, vibration resistance and water resistance.SOLUTION: An inorganic fiber having an average fiber diameter of 1.5-5.0μm, particulate silica and/or particulate alumina, and inorganic powder particles are subjected to compression molding to obtain a heat insulation material. The heat insulation material has bulk density of 300-600 kg/m, three-point flexural strength of 0.3 MPa or more, and heat conductivity (600°C) of 0.060-0.090 W/(m K). When an inorganic fiber in which the total amount of non-fiber particles is reduced to 20 wt.% or less of the whole fiber is used, the heat insulation material has bulk density of 300-600 kg/m, three-point flexural strength of 0.4 MPa or more, and heat conductivity (600°C) of 0.060 W/(m K) or less.</p> |
