<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the quality of gradation while suppressing the number of sub-fields.SOLUTION: Among pixels arranged in a plurality of rows and a plurality of columns, a pixel in an odd-number row and an odd-number column and a pixel in an even-number row and an even-number column are expressed as a pixel A, and a pixel in an even-number row and an odd-number column and a pixel in an odd-number row and an even-number column are expressed as a pixel B. For an odd-number frame, the gradation level of the pixel A is converted to an SF code representing on/off in a sub-field by referring to a first LUT, and the gradation level of the pixel B is converted to the SF code by referring to the first LUT. For an even-number frame, the gradation level of the pixel A is converted to the SF code by referring to a second LUT, and the gradation level of the pixel B is converted to the SF code by referring to the second LUT. For the odd-number frame, the pixel A is driven by a first sub-field group and the pixel B is driven by a second sub-field group differing from the first sub-field group, while for the even-number frame, the pixel A is driven by the second sub-field group and the pixel B is driven by the first sub-field group.</p> |
