1305544 Laminated panel LEYLAND INDUSTRIAL HOMES Ltd 11 May 1970 [26 March 1969] 15747/69 Heading B5N [Also in Division E1] A panel consists of plywood skins 20, 21 spaced apart by a plurality of wooden studs 22 connected to, and extending longitudinally almost the full length of the skins, the studs being spaced apart within the skins with each of the end studs disposed from a longitudinal edge of the panel to leave a channel equal in depth to one half the width of a stud and the spaces between the studs within the panel being wholly or partly filled by lengths of sound insulation material and the upper and lower regions of the panel being closed by wooden blockings. Two such panels may be connected by inserting a loose or filler stud 34 between the end studs 22 of the adjacent panel edges with half of the loose stud in each channel at the edges forming a longitudinal connection between the panels, the respective ends of the loose stud being firmly connected to the corresponding ends of the end stud of each panel by a U-shaped metallic clip 29 which embraces all three studs. |
