PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide substantially ethoxylate free, nonionic surfactant-containing personal care cleansing compositions.SOLUTION: A personal care composition for cleansing, in particular for facial cleansers, body cleansers, hair cleansers (shampoo) and hand washes, comprises: hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose having an average number of moles of hydroxypropyl groups attached by an ether linkage per mole of anhydroglucose unit (MS) of about 0.8 or greater and a degree of methoxy substitution per anhydroglucose unit (DS) of about 2 or greater; and an alkyl polyglycoside surfactant.
