PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rare earth metal complex having a compound containing a reactive silyl group as a ligand.SOLUTION: The rare earth metal complex has a 2,2'-dipyridyl skeleton having substituents, in which at least one substituent is a reactive silyl group expressed by formula (3):-SiRRR. The rare earth metal complex has excellent compatibility with an organic solvent or a resin. In the formula, Rand Rrepresent a monovalent hydrocarbon group, alkoxy group, aryloxy group, acyloxy group, hydroxyl group, halogen atom, H, mercapto group, amino group, cyano group, cyanate group, isocyanate group, thiocyanate group, or isothiocyanate group; and Rrepresents an alkoxy group, aryloxy group, acyloxy group, hydroxyl group, halogen atom, H, mercapto group, amino group, cyano group, cyanate group, isocyanate group, thiocyanate group, or isothiocyanate group. |
