A CARS microscope for homodyne interference measurement using supercontinuum light as a light source. A supercontinuum light is generated using a nonlinear optical fiber having normal dispersion in which coherence can be maintained between pulses. Since the phase of interference components of detected light is the same between pulses, multiplication is possible and the signal-to-noise ratio can been improved. |
