The invention relates to a method for filtering infrastructure description messages (17) packed in data packages (43), said messages being transmitted in a vehicular ad hoc network (1), along with positional information messages (17) for the localisation of individual participating nodes (3, 5, 8), in order to describe the status of the vehicular ad hoc network (1) and/or a street (2) on which the participating nodes (3, 5, 8) are located. The method comprises the following steps: receiving one of the infrastructure description messages (17) at a participating node (3, 5, 8); evaluating the received infrastructure description message (17) as to whether a response is required; and filtering the evaluated infrastructure description message (17) based on a predetermined criterion for whether a response is required. |
