<p>Process for preparing an organic solution of a dialkyl peroxydicarbonate in a liquid organic solvent (S), carried out at least partly in the presence of the liquid organic solvent (S) and comprising at least one step during which, in a medium containing water, an alkyl haloformate is reacted with an inorganic peroxide, the solvent (S) being chosen from the compounds corresponding to the empirical formula: A - (CnH(2n -2) ) - B (I) in which: - A represents a halogen functional group (Al) or a functional group (A2) corresponding to the structure R-C(=O)-O- in which R is chosen from hydrogen; chlorine; substituted or unsubstituted, linear or branched C1-C20 alkyl radicals; substituted or unsubstituted C3-C22 alkenyl radicals; substituted or unsubstituted C6-C10 cycloalkyl radicals; substituted or unsubstituted C7-C12 aralkyl radicals, and substituted or unsubstituted C6-C10 aryl radicals; - B represents either a hydrogen atom or, when A is not (A2), a second halogen functional group (A1); and - n is such that 3 = n = 8.
