According to an embodiment of the present invention, an operation method of an electronic device comprises the steps of: receiving an input pattern; generating a pattern identification (ID) by the input pattern; and searching for a counterpart electronic device having a counterpart ID corresponding to the generated pattern ID; and performing a wireless connection with the searched counterpart electronic device having the counterpart ID, thereby providing a method for wireless paring, which improves security and is intuitively operated, and an electronic device thereof.
