<p>A dynamically non-contacting seal system 1 is provided. The seal system comprises a stationary assembly 2 having an angled profile portion 11, and a rotary assembly 3 comprising a resiliently flexible rotary elastomeric member 7. When in a rest position, the rotary elastomeric member 7 contacts the angled profile 11 of the stationary assembly 2 to seal a gap therebetween. On rotation of the rotary elastomeric member 7, the gap between the assemblies is opened to allow fluid flow through the gap.</p> |
