<p>A mobile device (10) and holster system (60) includes a mobile device (10) that has a front face (11) and a back face (21) opposite the front face (11), the back face (21) including an elastomeric layer (29). A pair of longitudinal sides (16,17) are coupled to the front face (11) and back face (21), and a pair of latitudinal sides (18,19) are also coupled to the front face (11) and back face (21). The back face (21) or the longitudinal sides (16,17) define a recessed slot (23,24) extending along a longitudinal length of the back face (21) or longitudinal sides (16,17), respectively. The recessed slot (23;24) defines an open end (25;26;27;28) at at least one of the latitudinal sides (18,19) and the recessed slot (23;24) has a recessed slot surface that comprises a low-friction material (31). The holster (60) comprises a pocket defining an open top end configured to receive the mobile device (10). A rail (65;66) extends longitudinally along an interior side of the pocket, and the rail (65;66) is configured to correspond with and slidably engage the slot (23;24) on the mobile device (10).
