The present invention relates to a super-absorbent polymer and a method for producing the same. The super-absorbent includes: a cross-linked copolymer obtained by making the surface of a base resin, obtained by polymerizing aqueous ethylene-based unsaturated monomers, be cross-linked; and a water soluble substance. The super-absorbent polymer has the molecular weight distribution (dwt/d(log M)) of 0.9 or less with respect to a log value of the weight average molecular weight (M) of the water soluble substance having the weight average molecular weight of 100,000-300,000 measured after swelling the super-absorbent polymer for one hour. According to the present invention, the super-absorbent resin, which has increased permeability while waterproof properties or compression absorbing properties are not deteriorated and maintains excellent liquid permeability even when the super-absorbent polymer is swollen, can be provided. |
