<p>The present invention relates to an anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory composition for the skin. According to the present invention, calycosin inhibits generation of free radicals and thus has an antioxidant effect. Calycosin also inhibits generation of NO and thus has an anti-inflammatory effect. Therefore, the composition can be used as a pharmaceutical composition, an external use skin formulation, a cosmetic composition, or health food.
