<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuse which prevents or inhibits the occurence of cracks and rupture in its casing and prevents fire due to carbonization of the casing made of a synthetic resin when the fuse is melted. <P>SOLUTION: According to this invention, a fuse 10 comprises: a fuse element 1 having terminal parts 3 at both sides of a melting part 2; and a casing 5 enclosing the melting part 2 and is formed by filling the casing 5 with an arc-extinguishing agent 6 extinguishing an arc occurring when the fuse element is melted. The casing 5 is formed by an air permeable material and the entire casing 5 serves as a non conductive body.
