<p>Lightweight paels incorporating parallel, close-packed fibrous tubes or rods secured by adhesives or by nesting between parallel sheets or panels. Equipment is disclosed for orienting and laying up tubes either in horizontal rows or between vertical partitions passing into a binder resin curing oven. The core elements may have any cross-section and to help cure the resin, hot air may be blown through the tubes. For manufacture of panels or continuous boarding, pref. with the core tubes extending across the structure, mutually or at any angles to control the stiffness of the structure.</p> |
