Shaping of solns. or melts of copolymers of ethylenesulpho acid derivatives is characterised in that copolymers of Na-ethylene sulphonate with acrylic acid are used. The cation exchangers obtained are subjected to the action of fast electrons after shaping, optionally followed by treating with heavy metal salts and finally with mineral acid solns.
