Preheated pipe joint welding tool

摘要

Tool comprising a pair of semi-circular jaws on a split 8 spring steel handle for preheating by a blow-torch to close about an overlapped socket/spigot pipe joint. Pref. the jaws are stepped to locate the end of the socket and also feature a proud curve near the other edge to retain the socket over the spingot. Esp. for field jointing of thermoplastic pipes which are heat-stable, esp. polypropylene. Pref. the tool jaws are interchangeable to suit various sizes of pipe. Can be used where electric power or other jointing instruments are not available.
