<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cladding tube assembly having excellent corrosion resistance, radiation-resistant properties, bond strength, and the like, in reactor water at elevated temperature and pressure. <P>SOLUTION: A fuel cladding tube assembly 10 seals pellets 2, having a fuel cladding tube 1 with the inside for the insertion of the pellets 2 and with the outside in contact with furnace water and an end plug 4 bonded to the end of the tube. Both of the fuel cladding tube 1 and the end plug 4 are formed of a silicon carbide fiber-reinforced composite material which is reinforced with silicon carbide filaments. At least the portion of the bonding region of the fuel cladding tube 1 and the end plug 4 in contact with furnace water is directly bonded to each other without through a dissimilar material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
